I’m a former MOBE affiliate. I say former because the system was shut down this summer while the FTC conducts its investigation and forces the company to jump through many hoops in an effort to prove its legitimacy. I still like MOBE but it could take many more months before it’s permitted to come back online in the USA.
The biggest drawback with MOBE is that after the initial $50 limited preview, it was very expensive to join and even more so to “buy” into higher levels for greater commissions and more advanced training. They had excellent training programs and products but there’s no denying they were constantly trying to upsell you into higher memberships.
The founder, Matt Lloyd, was always transparent, talked a lot about his failures and the lessons learned along the way that helped him get into multi-million dollar status. He always put himself out there. There was always new videos and plenty of testimonials of other affiliates at all levels producing thousands in income, attending the many live training seminars for each membership level, five levels in total if memory serves me, taking place all around the world.
Needless to say, when it was all taken down, without any warning, there were thousands, if not hundreds of thousands, of affiliates left hanging. So I went searching for something that provided me with a similar training structure and organization.
I found Wealthy Affiliate. In some ways, it reminds me of MOBE in that its online business training is well organized into a step-by-step approach. The two founders, Kyle and Carson, instantly put themselves out there and are very responsive to inquiries.
Like MOBE, Wealthy Affiliate (WA) has been around for a long while, too. WA started in 2005 with a focus on affordable online business education and training. It has over 200,000 affiliates worldwide and paid millions in commissions.
However, unlike MOBE, it’s really affordable. MOBE gives entry-level trial that lets people complete the first six lessons of its training with sales pitches woven throughout, then you have to decide whether or not you want to continue. If you choose to continue, you’ll have to dig deep. Buying into their two basic levels of Silver and Gold memberships will set you back $2,500.
Unlike MOBE, WA gives you plenty of free access so you can get a really good look. Moving up to Premium level which gives you many perks and unlimited access, is under $50 a month. Way better than $2500! Also, your email inbox will not be bombarded with tons of messages from Wealthy Affiliate. Generally, I receive two emails per day, one of them telling me about an upcoming live webinar training session. That I can handle!
Another big plus is that through Wealthy Affiliates, you also get lifetime commissions on every lead that comes through your affiliate links.
MOBE focused on high ticket priced training systems also referred to as “Top Tier”. Whereas, Wealthy Affiliate focuses on training at very affordable prices. In fact, they haven’t changed their pricing since 2012.
Wealthy Affiliate puts a lot of emphasis on participation in its forums. The more you participate, the more you can earn points or credits that you can use to buy nice perks designed to help grow your online business pipeline without spending another dime. You get answers to questions within minutes and access to more advanced members easily, as well as full access to video training for more in-depth knowledge.
The learn as you go approach is better than MOBE. In fact, with MOBE, it’s not until you get into the heart of traffic training that you’re given access to affiliate links, it’s products, landing pages and it’s website creator.
Wealthy Affiliate takes a more learn as you go approach, guiding you into building your existing business or starting a new online business. Included with their Word Press creator are SEO systems that quickly get you ranking on Google as soon as you start producing content. It also provides a nice library of free images you can use in your online business blogs, unlimited free WordPress themes, and plug-ins.
I’ve put together a chart here that should help.
Regardless of your current level of expertise or where you left off in your MOBE training, I encourage you to take a look at Wealthy Affiliates approach for free and see if it’s for you.

I used to spend money on online training courses teaching me this technique or that strategy. I was learning piecemeal when I really wanted one place that had everything I needed.
Well, after years of disappointment, I had only a swiss cheese understanding of how to build an online business. I realized there was still so much I didn’t know!
In 2018, my husband sent me a link to this free course called Affiliate Marketer Bootcamp. I figured it’s free, so why not give it a try, right? I’m so glad I did because it was a total game-changer for me. I’m not trying to make this sound like some kind of sales pitch, I’m just saying that I’ve not only grown my online business but now I have two sites doing well.
Each site was hosted within Wealthy Affiliate for free, I just paid for the domains. Now I’m a full-fledged Premium member and I get everything, no extra costs or products to purchase. I get the full 24/7 chat, a huge training library, the live event training every Friday and FREE traffic flowing to my sites!
Instead of spending the thousands that MOBE requested of us, I spend only $50/mo for my Premium membership. Way better, don’t you think? If you watch the video above you’ll see what Wealthy Affiliate has to offer and why I fell in love with it.
Look, instead of wasting time and money, you’ve got nothing to lose by taking this training for free. You get the entire course plus 2 free WordPress websites when you register using the link below (click on image). Don’t know how to use WordPress, either did I.
The course takes you step-by-step with video walkthroughs and there’s a huge community of members there ready to help you too! Watch the video in the link to get a better picture of what you can expect before you register.
