There’s a lot that goes into building an online business. Here I’ve narrowed it down to steps and also provide you with free training you’ll need that takes you step by step how to build a successful online business.
Step 1: You Need A Website
The first requirement of an online business is the creation of an attractive and easy to navigate a website. It will be a source of information and content and present you with the ability to eventually monetize it.
So having a niche that your passionate about makes this so much easier to stick with it over the long haul. Keep in mind, the goal of your content is to engage the reader. Get them responding to your content and sharing it!
Step 2: Provide Lots Of Helpful Content
Your focus should be to create helpful content that educates the reader and creates a dialog that others can benefit from. It’s important to invite comments with each of your blogs because this catches Google’s attention and helps your rankings.
The more social avenues you can easily provide to the reader, to talk about and share the greater brand awareness your building that’s outside of search engines. This is often referred to as “diversifying” your traffic.
Utilizing social media sites such as Twitter, YouTube, Pinterest, etc., is a great way to generate buzz about you and your products or content that will build your online traffic.
You can easily provide social media avenues to your readers through social plugins that provide common social media buttons at the top, bottom or sides of each of your posts.
Step 3: Build Traffic & Rankings
As you start to build up your build out your content you slowly gain more authority on the topic.
You’re going to start getting rankings. It’s not an overnight thing but something you need to work towards. If you can get ranked on the first page, will generate a good deal of traffic.
As you continue to build out your website and your online traffic, you can begin to generate revenue from it.

The more you understand about researching keywords and index each of your blog posts quickly. Then the more you’ll be able to
Step 4: Monetize It
Once you can generate a steady stream of traffic to your website, the skies the limit for monetizing it.
If you plan to generate your own product such as some kind of video or online course, then you’ll definitely want to build a subscriber’s list.
If they buy from you once, they are much more likely to buy from you again. So that list is worth gold to you and the success of your online business.
Even if you don’t plan to sell your own products, you can definitely take full advantage of affiliate marketing. That is promoting other people’s products for a commission. On the low end of the commission scale, are sites like Amazon and Shopify. They pay up to 6% commissions on every dollar sold through your affiliate link and offer thousands of products.
There are all kinds of affiliate products and services you can promote. Some pay $100 per sale or more. These are often referred to as Top Tier products. It’s always a good practice to have a variety of price points from which to choose
Also, don’t place all your eggs in one basket. What I mean by that is, choose more than just one affiliate provider. I can’t emphasize this enough, stay tight within your niche when choosing which products/services you will offer.
Just make sure not to go crazy and flood your blogs and website with a bunch of affiliate links. Doing this will essentially kill your site in Google’s eyes. Above all, Google values content and interaction.
Only promote specific products that relate to your specific niche. This also gives you the opportunity to write up reviews on them which is a great way to rank.
This Is How I Got Started A Year Ago
I tried some of the popular training courses such as John Crestani’s affiliate training and MOBE. They were expensive and didn’t last. I found Crestani’s training overwhelming and somewhat confusing at times. I needed something simpler, step-by-step that was easier to understand. Initially,
So, I started with Wealthy Affiliates because it was free with no time limits which gave me the opportunity to really look under the hood.

What You’ll Learn
Unlike most other programs out there, Wealthy Affiliate doesn’t bait you with all kinds of wild promises of earning thousands of dollars overnight. Neither does it try to sell you on all kinds of “extras” to nickel and dime you along the way.
Wealthy Affiliate is a training center focused on taking you every step of the way towards discovering your specific niche, building a WordPress site, attracting visitors to your site and growing your online income step-by-step.
#1 Pick A Niche
The temptation here is to avoid choosing a topic that your website will center around simply because you think it will make money. Any niche can make money!
Building your site to the point when it does finally start to generate some income will take longer than you think it will (depending on how much time you can devote to it). So choose a topic that you are absolutely in love with and won’t get bored of six months down the line. Avoid being too general. The more specific your niche is, the better!
#2 Build Your WordPress Website
There are well over a thousand different WordPress themes you can choose from for your website’s look and feel. So I’d suggest you do some online research and find the one you love the best.
#3 Grow Your Traffic
Once you’ve got the foundation of your new website in place. WA takes you right into how to write original content. This is the fun part! This is where you get to show off your knowledge about your favorite topic (which should be your niche). There are templates available to you to use that will help you organize your blog as you write it. After a while though, you won’t need them.
WA shows you how where and how to index each of your published blogs so that search engines will take notice sooner rather than later. They’ll also show you all about researching keywords and identifying the “low hanging fruit” keywords that will attract more visitors and get you ranking higher.
In WA you’ll learn how to leverage each of your blogs through various means including, but not limited to, social media. They cover the different methods of free traffic vs paid traffic and everything in between.
You’ll get to know, Jay. He’s the main sites trainer and he does live demonstrations every Friday. They are all recorded and easily accessible to you as is a HUGE library of other e-courses, trainings, etc.
#4 Make Money
The main component
You’ll also learn of all of the different ways you can earn income. When and where to use affiliate links. How to set up your own e-commerce store. As you go along and build your site day after day, the income generated will come.

Choose from the Affiliate Bootcamp if you plan on mostly marketing products/services as an affiliate marketer. Personally, I’ve completed both of them as they each have a lot to offer.
